Our teen council was founded in September of 2025 when a few teens came forward and suggested that the youth take a larger part in the center's decision making processes and day to day functions. We were more than happy to accommodate this request and 4 teens volunteered to pilot the project.
These 4 teens worked incredibly hard to drive positive changes at the center and to advocate for teens from a member's perspective. They consulted their peers, helped out at Hub events, became excellent role models, and even fundraised for a trip to Washington DC! In DC, they attended a leadership conference, tried new foods, and visited monuments & museums.
In June of 2026, The Hub held elections to determine the teen council members for the 2026-2027 school year. Besides our departing senior (we'll miss you Anela), all teen members were re-elected as well as three new members-at-large. We are so excited to see what next terms bring and very proud of our fantastic youth leaders!

Teegan Gilmore, President
This is Teegan's second term as Teen Council President. He will be a sophomore this year at Oxbow High School.
Bentley Rivers, Vice President
Bentley is going into his sophomore year of high school. He likes to travel to new places and try new things. He wanted to be Vice President for Teen Council because he thought that it would be nice to try something new that would help people he knows out. This is his first term serving on teen council.
Alivia Hatch, Treasurer & Event Coordinator
Alivia is a freshman this year, and she likes to travel abroad to places like Europe. This her second term being teen council Event Coordinator & Treasurer, and she enjoys fundraising for the teen center.
Aiden Covey, Member-at-Large
Aiden is headed into 11th grade, and his teen council journey started with him being the Vice President for the 2025-2026 School Year Term. He spent a lot of time planning most of the projects that we did, like the haunted house, and was very involved in creating the teen council. He is returning this term as a member-at-large and looks forward to being there for the teen council whenever they him.
Tay Ritchie, Member-at-Large
Tay Ritchey, (they/them), is a member of the teen council. They are a member at large who joined because they want to improve the teen center experience for people like them, as well as everybody else. They are a senior in High School, and they plan to go to college to study Cybersecurity. When they are not at school or at the teen center, they like to read, write, and tinker with and fix computers.
Adley Gilmore, Member-at-Large
Adley is a freshman in high school. This is her first time being on teen council, though she helped teen council out a lot last term by volunteering her time.
Collyn Knowles, Member-at-Large
In his free time, Collyn likes to play pickle ball, help out his dad, hang out at the teen center, and go to Bear Ridge. He wanted to be on teen council as a member-at-large because, though he doesn't like to be the center of attention, he likes to be a person who helps make things happen behind the scenes. He is going into his sophomore year at Oxbow High School.
